The special matchup opened a series between the National League Phillies and American League Twins. Minnesota was designated the home team for the Iowa contest, while Philadelphia entered as the visiting club.
The two teams then continued the series at Target Field in Minneapolis after a Friday off day. This structure allowed MLB to combine a neutral-site showcase with a conventional three-game set.
The Field of Dreams game ended with Philadelphia winning 7–1. It was the third edition of MLB at Field of Dreams, following the White Sox–Yankees game in 2021 and the Cubs–Reds game in 2022.
