The Swedish city that hosted the 2011 League of Legends World Championship final was Jönköping. The inaugural final was played at the Elmia Exhibition and Convention Centre during DreamHack.
The match took place on June 20, 2011, between European teams Fnatic and Against All Authority. Fnatic won the best-of-three series 2–1, despite losing the opening game. Because the tournament was staged as part of DreamHack, its final venue and setting differed from the large, standalone arena events that became standard in later years.
Jönköping is in southern Sweden and is closely associated with DreamHack, one of the world’s best-known gaming festivals. The 2011 championship had only eight teams, reflecting League of Legends’ early competitive era.
