Which subclass was introduced in Destiny 2: The Final Shape?

The subclass introduced in Destiny 2: The Final Shape was Prismatic.

Prismatic is Destiny 2’s sixth subclass and allows Guardians to combine selected Light and Darkness abilities in a single build. It draws from the existing Arc, Solar, Void, Stasis, and Strand systems rather than replacing them with one ordinary element. This makes it distinct from the single-energy subclasses introduced throughout the earlier expansions.

Prismatic’s central mechanic is Transcendence. Guardians fill separate Light and Darkness meters by dealing damage with matching abilities and weapons. When both are charged, Transcendence temporarily grants enhanced regeneration, durability, weapon damage, and a class-specific hybrid grenade. The exact combinations differ for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks.

The Final Shape connects Prismatic thematically to the campaign’s conflict between Light and Darkness. Guardians gain the power inside the Pale Heart of the Traveler while pursuing the Witness. Sunbreaker and Stormcaller are older Titan and Warlock subclass paths, while Strand belongs to Lightfall. Prismatic is therefore the canonical answer, not a renamed version of any earlier subclass.
