The Vault of Glass was the original Destiny raid that returned to Destiny 2 on May 22, 2021. It originally debuted in the first Destiny and became the series' foundational raid experience.

The reprised version launched during Season of the Splicer, part of the Beyond Light era. Guardians returned to Venus to face the Vex inside the Vault, including familiar encounters involving the Templar, the Gatekeeper, and Atheon. The Destiny 2 edition preserved the raid's identity while adapting mechanics and rewards for the sequel.

Its return was also tied to a World First race. Bungie enabled Contest Mode for the initial launch period, limiting effective power and requiring fireteams to meet special challenge conditions before claiming the reprised raid's first completion.
