Netflix exclusively carried the 2026 MLB Field of Dreams Game.
The Phillies–Twins contest was part of a new Major League Baseball media-rights arrangement that made Netflix the broadcaster. Matt Vasgersian handled play-by-play, with Hunter Pence and CC Sabathia as analysts and Lauren Shehadi as the field reporter.
This marked a change from the earlier editions. Fox televised the 2021 and 2022 MLB Field of Dreams games, helping establish the event as a nationally visible baseball presentation. Because those earlier games were associated with Fox, viewers may incorrectly remember Fox as the 2026 broadcaster.
Netflix’s coverage formed part of a broader 2026 MLB package involving major special events. The streaming service also carried Opening Night and the T-Mobile Home Run Derby. The Field of Dreams game was presented by John Deere and streamed live on August 13.
The move reflected MLB’s expanding use of streaming platforms for marquee games and special-event broadcasts. It also gave the Iowa game an international digital distribution route rather than relying only on a traditional American television network.
The broadcast was distinct from the game’s venue: Netflix carried the telecast, while the actual contest took place at the Field of Dreams ballpark in Dyersville.
