Which South Korean brand makes the EV6 electric crossover?

The story behind the answer

Which South Korean brand makes the EV6 electric crossover? Kia makes it.

The Kia EV6 is a battery-electric compact crossover SUV produced by Kia, the South Korean automaker. It went into production in 2021 as Kia’s first model based on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform, or E-GMP, designed specifically for electric vehicles.

The EV6 uses a skateboard-style layout that places the battery low in the floor. Depending on the version, it has rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive. Its 800-volt electrical architecture supports rapid DC charging, and some versions offer vehicle-to-load capability for powering appliances or equipment.

The EV6 shares important engineering with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and is related to the Genesis GV60, but it is not a Hyundai-badged vehicle. Kia gives it a distinct design, cabin, suspension setup, and performance range. The high-performance EV6 GT adds substantially more power than the standard versions.

The biggest quiz trap is the close relationship among Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis. They belong to the same broader Hyundai Motor Group, yet the EV6’s brand and manufacturer are Kia.
