The Kia EV9 Concept debuted at which 2021 auto show?
Answer
Los Angeles Auto Show
Answer
Los Angeles Auto Show
The Kia EV9 Concept debuted at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Kia unveiled the concept during AutoMobility LA on 17 November 2021. It previewed a large, three-row electric SUV intended to sit above the smaller EV6 in Kia’s expanding battery-electric range. The concept’s upright proportions and spacious cabin signaled Kia’s interest in making electric vehicles practical for larger families, not just urban commuters.
The show car also emphasized flexible interior design. Its seats could be rearranged for different uses, including a lounge-like or meeting-room arrangement, while the exterior introduced the geometric styling later adapted for the production EV9. The concept was not a production vehicle at the time, so its show-car features should not be confused with standard equipment on the finished SUV.
A common mix-up is the production model’s later reveal. Kia presented the production EV9 in 2023, but the EV9 nameplate first appeared publicly as a concept in Los Angeles in 2021. The 2021 event was also notable for several other electric concepts, including Hyundai’s Seven concept, which previewed a future three-row EV from Kia’s sister brand.
