Which song opens Guns N' Roses' album Use Your Illusion I?

The story behind the answer

“Right Next Door to Hell” opens Guns N' Roses' Use Your Illusion I. The fast, abrasive rocker begins the album with a burst of distorted guitars and confrontational energy before the record moves into “Dust N' Bones.”

Released on September 17, 1991, Use Your Illusion I was one half of the band's simultaneous twin-album project; Use Your Illusion II was issued the same day. The first track was written by Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, and Finnish guitarist Timo Caltia. Its lyrics were inspired by a dispute between Rose and his West Hollywood neighbor, Gabriella Kantor.

Listeners sometimes choose “Don't Cry” because it was one of the era's best-known singles, or “Dust N' Bones” because it is the second track and features Izzy Stradlin on lead vocals. “November Rain” is also strongly associated with the album, but it appears much later, as track ten. The opener is the shorter, harder-edged “Right Next Door to Hell.”
