Answer
Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide
Guns N’ Roses’ first official release was the 1986 EP Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide. It was issued on December 16, 1986, through the band’s UZI Suicide label, before their debut studio album Appetite for Destruction.
The four-song EP introduced the emerging Los Angeles band’s early sound with “Reckless Life,” “Nice Boys,” “Move to the City,” and “Mama Kin.” Although presented as a live recording, the tracks were studio performances augmented with crowd noise, a detail that later made the release part of the band’s mythology.
The EP was later reissued as the first four tracks of the 1988 album G N’ R Lies, which is why some listeners mistakenly identify Lies as the group’s first release. G N’ R Lies was a later full-length album combining those four songs with four newly recorded acoustic tracks. Appetite for Destruction, released in 1987, was the band’s first studio album—not its first official record.
