Which Guns N' Roses album includes their cover of Bob Dylan's 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door'?

Guns N’ Roses included their cover of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” on Use Your Illusion II. The album was released on September 17, 1991, alongside its companion record, Use Your Illusion I.

The band’s version had already appeared nearly a year earlier on the Days of Thunder soundtrack, before the studio album was released. On Use Your Illusion II, it became the fourth track and one of the record’s defining covers, alongside the album’s political and dramatic original material.

A common mix-up is choosing Use Your Illusion I because that album contains another famous cover, Wings’ “Live and Let Die.” The two albums each contain one major cover song, but Dylan’s composition belongs to II. The album version also differs in length from later edited releases: an edit omitted Josh Richman’s spoken introduction, shortening the track.
