Which song does Ariel sing while exploring human objects in Disney’s 1989 The Little Mermaid?

Ariel sings “Part of Your World” while exploring human objects in Disney’s 1989 The Little Mermaid.

The song takes place in Ariel’s hidden grotto, where she stores objects recovered from the human world. Through the lyrics, Ariel expresses her fascination with life on land and her wish to belong to a world she has never experienced.

“Part of Your World” became one of the film’s defining songs and is widely treated as Ariel’s signature solo. The music was written by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman, the songwriting team behind much of the film’s musical identity.

It is sometimes confused with “Kiss the Girl,” which is a later ensemble number about Ariel and Eric. “Part of Your World” is Ariel’s personal longing song.
