Adidas launched the first commercially available shoe made with its Boost cushioning technology.
Adidas introduced Boost foam in 2013, presenting it as a cushioning material designed to return energy while remaining responsive across a range of temperatures. The first consumer shoe using the technology was the Energy Boost running shoe.
Boost later became especially associated with the Adidas Ultra Boost, which debuted in 2015 and helped move the cushioning platform from performance running into mainstream sneaker culture. Its distinctive exposed foam appearance also became recognizable in collaborative and fashion releases.
The question asks for the brand rather than a model because several Adidas shoes used the technology. Nike React, Puma Nitro, and Reebok Floatride are separate cushioning systems from competing brands and are not early Boost products.
