Which singer won Eurovision 1973 for Luxembourg with “Tu te reconnaîtras”?
Answer
Anne-Marie David
Answer
Anne-Marie David
Anne-Marie David won Eurovision 1973 for Luxembourg with “Tu te reconnaîtras.”
The contest was held on 7 April 1973 at the New Theatre in Luxembourg City. David represented Luxembourg with a French-language song written by Claude Morgan and Vline Buggy. Her performance earned 129 points and gave Luxembourg its second Eurovision victory.
The song’s title means “You will recognise yourself.” It is often remembered as one of Luxembourg’s strongest entries because the small country had already won in 1961 and would win again in 1983. David later returned to Eurovision as a performer for France in 1979.
“Tu te reconnaîtras” is sometimes mixed up with Luxembourg’s 1983 winner, “Si la vie est cadeau,” performed by Corinne Hermès. They were separate victories a decade apart, with David’s win belonging to 1973.
