Which sea is the main setting of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag?
Answer
Caribbean Sea
Answer
Caribbean Sea
The Caribbean Sea is the main setting of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
The game is set during the Golden Age of Piracy, primarily in the early eighteenth century. Edward Kenway, a Welsh privateer turned pirate, sails among islands and coastal settlements in the Caribbean while becoming entangled in the conflict between the Assassins and Templars.
Major locations include Havana, Nassau, Kingston, and numerous smaller islands. Edward's ship, the Jackdaw, is central to exploration, naval combat, trade, and upgrading the player's equipment. The game's open-world design made sailing and ship battles as important as land-based stealth.
The Caribbean setting can be confused with the Mediterranean locations used in Assassin's Creed Odyssey or the North Atlantic setting associated with Assassin's Creed Rogue. Black Flag also includes historical pirates such as Blackbeard, Calico Jack, and Anne Bonny, but Edward Kenway is a fictional character created for the series.
