Which Rolls-Royce model was introduced in 2013 as a successor to the Phantom Coupé?

The story behind the answer

The Rolls-Royce Wraith was introduced in 2013 as the successor to the Phantom Coupé.

The Wraith is a two-door fastback grand tourer based on the Rolls-Royce Ghost platform. Its sloping roofline distinguishes it from the more upright Phantom and Ghost saloons, while rear-hinged coach doors preserve a characteristic Rolls-Royce design feature.

The model used a twin-turbocharged V12 engine and was designed to have a more driver-focused character than the company’s traditional limousines. Despite that emphasis, it remained a large, quiet and highly luxurious car rather than a lightweight sports coupé.

The Wraith name had historical precedent: Rolls-Royce had previously used it for a car produced in the 1930s. The 2013 model should not be confused with the later Spectre, which became the marque’s first production electric car.
