The role typically paired with the support in the bottom lane is the ADC, or attack damage carry.
In a standard Summoner’s Rift team, two players usually share the bottom lane: a support and an ADC. The ADC is generally a marksman who focuses on dealing sustained physical damage, especially after acquiring items. The support helps create opportunities, protects the lane partner, provides vision, and often initiates fights or controls enemies.
The term ADC comes from “attack damage carry,” an older description of a champion expected to scale with attack damage and carry a team’s late-game damage output. Today, “bot laner” or “marksman” is often more precise because some bottom-lane champions deal magic damage or do not fit the traditional marksman mold.
This pairing is a convention rather than a hard movement rule. Teams can use unusual strategies, and champions may appear in different positions. Even so, the standard five-role arrangement places top, jungle, and mid players alone while the ADC and support share bottom lane.
