Which returning mode in Mario Kart World horizontally inverts the entire map?

The story behind the answer

Mirror Mode is the returning Mario Kart World mode that horizontally inverts the entire map. It presents familiar courses and routes as left-right reflections of their normal layouts.

The mode is a long-running Mario Kart tradition. It rewards players who know the ordinary course direction because turns, item lines and visual landmarks appear on the opposite side. Familiarity can therefore become a disadvantage when muscle memory sends a racer toward the wrong corner.

Mirror Mode is separate from Knockout Tour, Grand Prix and Free Roam. It changes the orientation of the racing environment rather than adding a new elimination system or exploration objective.

Mario Kart World also reimagines some returning courses to fit its connected world and day-to-night transitions. Those redesigns can make a mirrored course feel different even to experienced players, because the layout and surrounding scenery may already differ from earlier versions.
