The League of Legends EMEA Championship represents EMEA: Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The LEC is Riot Games’ top-level professional League of Legends competition for that broad region. Its teams compete in a franchised league, with regular-season splits and playoffs determining qualification for international events such as the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship.
The modern name dates from 2023, when Riot expanded the former League of Legends European Championship to include the Middle East and Africa. Before that change, the competition was known as the European League of Legends Championship Series from 2013 to 2018 and the League of Legends European Championship from 2019 to 2022.
The abbreviations in the wrong options refer to other major regional competitions: PCS covers the Pacific region, LPL is China’s league, and LCK is South Korea’s league. The LEC is based in Berlin and has historically served as Europe’s premier regional league.
