Which reality series features celebrities competing in a jungle for charity in the UK?

The story behind the answer

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! is the UK reality series in which celebrities compete in a jungle for charity.

The British programme premiered on ITV in 2002. Celebrities live together in a camp, complete trials and take part in public voting. Many trials involve eating unusual foods, encountering insects or animals, or completing physically demanding tasks. Successful contestants earn food or other camp rewards.

The phrase in the title is used as a contestant's declaration to stop a trial. Contestants can also leave the competition voluntarily, although they may face contractual or financial consequences. The public eventually votes to determine the winner.

The series has traditionally been filmed in or near the Australian jungle, particularly around Murwillumbah in New South Wales. In 2020 and 2021, production moved to Gwrych Castle in Wales because of international travel restrictions. It returned to Australia in 2022.

The show raises money for charities selected by contestants and has inspired editions in countries including Germany, France and South Africa.
