Kalle Rovanperä won the 2021 Rally Estonia to become the youngest WRC event winner.

Driving a Toyota Yaris WRC with co-driver Jonne Halttunen, Rovanperä won the Estonian round from 15–18 July 2021. The victory was his first in the championship’s top category and came when he was 20 years, 289 days old.

The result broke Jari-Matti Latvala’s previous record, set when Latvala won the 2008 Swedish Rally at 22 years, 313 days. Rovanperä’s achievement was especially notable because Rally Estonia was a fast gravel event demanding precise high-speed driving and strong pace-note work.

A common mix-up is Croatia Rally, which Rovanperä won in 2022 during his championship-winning season. Rally Sweden was instead the event where he first scored a WRC podium, finishing third in 2020. He later added another 2021 victory at the Acropolis Rally.
