Which Queen member played drums and sang on the band’s records?
Answer
Roger Taylor
Answer
Roger Taylor
Roger Taylor played drums and sang on Queen’s records.
Taylor was Queen’s drummer from the band’s formation and also contributed lead and backing vocals. His powerful voice is especially prominent on songs he wrote, including “I’m in Love with My Car,” which appeared on A Night at the Opera in 1975.
He was not only a rhythm-section musician. Taylor wrote or co-wrote several major Queen songs, including “Radio Ga Ga,” “A Kind of Magic,” and “These Are the Days of Our Lives.” His songwriting often brought a different melodic and lyrical perspective from those of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, and John Deacon.
Taylor continued performing with Queen after Mercury’s death, including later tours with Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert. He is sometimes confused with drummer Roger Meddows Taylor of other projects, but Queen’s drummer is commonly identified by his full name, Roger Taylor.
