Which Queen album was released in 1978 and features “Don’t Stop Me Now”? The answer is Jazz.
Released on 10 November 1978, Jazz was Queen’s seventh studio album. It followed News of the World and reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and number six on the US Billboard album chart. Despite its title, the record is not a jazz album in the conventional sense; it mixes hard rock, pop, funk, disco and theatrical experimentation.
“Don’t Stop Me Now” was written by Freddie Mercury and recorded at Super Bear Studios in France in August 1978. The song appeared on Jazz as the twelfth track, but it was not released as a single until 26 January 1979. Its buoyant piano, rapid vocal delivery and celebratory lyrics eventually made it one of Queen’s most enduring songs.
A common mix-up is The Game, which contains “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” but came out in 1980. Jazz also includes “Bicycle Race,” “Fat Bottomed Girls,” “Mustapha” and “In Only Seven Days.”
