Which Queen album contains 'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are the Champions'?
Answer
News of the World
Answer
News of the World
Queen’s album containing “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions” is News of the World.
Released in 1977, News of the World was Queen’s sixth studio album. Its opening pairing of “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions” became one of the most recognisable sequences in rock music, closely associated with stadium crowds, sporting victories, and audience participation.
Brian May wrote “We Will Rock You” with a deliberately simple stomp-stomp-clap rhythm so concert audiences could join in. Freddie Mercury wrote “We Are the Champions,” a victory anthem that was released as a single with “We Will Rock You” as its B-side. Both songs helped give the album enduring cultural importance.
The record also marked a shift toward a more direct hard-rock sound after Queen’s highly elaborate earlier work. It was recorded in London during 1977 and reached number four in the UK and number three in the United States. “Jazz,” “The Game,” and A Night at the Opera are separate Queen albums.
