The punk band's only studio album is *Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols*: it was released by the English band Sex Pistols on 28 October 1977.
The album captured the group's confrontational sound through songs such as “Anarchy in the U.K.,” “God Save the Queen,” “Pretty Vacant,” and “Holidays in the Sun.” Its release followed controversy with EMI and A&M Records, before Virgin Records issued the finished record.
A common mix-up is confusing the album with *The Great Rock ’n’ Roll Swindle*, which appeared in 1979 but was largely a soundtrack and compilation rather than a conventional second studio album. Glen Matlock co-wrote most of the songs, although Sid Vicious had replaced him as bassist by the recording period. The album remains one of punk rock’s defining releases.
