Rob Law pitched Trunki on the BBC television programme Dragon's Den.
Trunki is a ride-on children's suitcase designed to let young travellers sit on and pull their luggage. Law developed the idea through his company Magmatic, drawing on the practical problem of entertaining children during journeys.
Law appeared on Dragon's Den in 2006. The Dragons did not invest, but the product later became a prominent British design success and was sold in many international markets. Its distinctive shape and child-focused function helped it stand out from ordinary wheeled luggage.
Trunki is sometimes mistakenly remembered as a successful Dragon-backed company because of its strong association with the programme. In fact, Law left without a deal, making the product a notable example of post-show success without panel funding.
