Which producer worked with Lennon on 'Instant Karma!'?

Phil Spector produced John Lennon’s “Instant Karma!” The single was recorded at EMI Studios in London on January 27, 1970, and became one of the fastest major pop recordings to move from composition to release.

Lennon wrote the song and brought together a temporary Plastic Ono Band lineup that included George Harrison, Billy Preston, Klaus Voormann, and drummer Alan White. Spector shaped the recording with a dense, echo-heavy sound associated with his Wall of Sound approach. Lennon later recalled asking for a 1950s-style sound and being impressed when Spector quickly transformed the track.

The song was released in Britain on February 6, only ten days after it was written. Lennon and Spector did disagree about aspects of the bass sound, but Lennon was pleased enough with the result to involve Spector in later Beatles-related projects, including the released version of “Let It Be.” Brian Eno, Tony Visconti, and George Martin were important producers in other contexts, but none produced this single.
