Which producer co-wrote Taylor Swift's “august” with Swift?

Jack Antonoff co-wrote Taylor Swift's “august” with Swift.

Antonoff and Swift had already collaborated on songs for 1989, Reputation, and Lover before working together on Folklore. For “august,” Antonoff created the instrumental first and sent it to Swift, who wrote the lyrics after hearing the music.

The collaboration helped shape the song's hazy blend of dream pop, guitar pop, and soft rock. Its arrangement uses reverb, strings, keyboards, guitars, and a gradually expanding orchestral sound, giving the track its late-summer atmosphere.

Antonoff also co-produced the recording with Swift and Joe Alwyn. A frequent mistake is naming Aaron Dessner as a producer of this specific track; Dessner was a major Folklore collaborator, but he is not listed among the producers of “august.”
