Which presenter took over the main hosting role on the British series Dragon's Den in 2007?

The story behind the answer

Evan Davis took over the main hosting role on the British series Dragon's Den in 2007. He became the familiar presenter who introduced entrepreneurs, narrated the pitch process and followed negotiations with the investor panel.

Davis is a British economist, journalist and broadcaster. Before and alongside Dragon's Den, he was strongly associated with BBC economics and current-affairs coverage, including work on the Today programme and Newsnight. His background made the programme’s financial explanations accessible to a broad audience.

Adrian Chiles presented the first British series, so the two presenters are easy to mix up. Davis is not an investor or “Dragon”; his function is to present the programme and provide continuity between pitches. The investor lineup has changed many times while Davis has remained associated with the show.
