Which presenter took over from Adrian Chiles on Britain's Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Evan Davis took over from Adrian Chiles on Britain's Dragon's Den.

Davis became the programme’s presenter after Chiles hosted its first two series. He brought a background in economics and broadcasting to the role, which suited a show requiring clear explanations of company valuations, sales figures, ownership percentages and investment proposals.

As presenter, Davis acts as the audience’s guide rather than as one of the Dragons. He introduces the entrepreneurs, helps establish the circumstances of a pitch and gives viewers information about what happened after the studio negotiation. The investors remain responsible for making offers and deciding whether to pursue a business.

The change of host is easy to overlook because the investor panel receives most of the programme’s attention. It is also easy to confuse Evan Davis with presenters from other business or consumer programmes. In Dragon's Den’s British history, however, Davis is the presenter who followed Adrian Chiles after the opening two series.
