Evan Davis replaced Adrian Chiles as presenter of the British television programme Dragon's Den.
Davis became the programme's presenter after Chiles hosted its first two series. He brought a background in economics and broadcasting to the role, making him a natural fit for a programme built around investment, valuation and business strategy.
Although the presenter introduces the pitches and explains some of the business context, Davis is not one of the investors. The people seated in the investor chairs are the Dragons; they question the entrepreneurs and decide whether to make offers. This distinction can cause confusion when viewers remember the host more readily than individual panel changes.
Davis also became known for presenting other BBC programmes, including the current-affairs programme Newsnight. His association with Dragon's Den lasted through a substantial period of the show's development and helped define its familiar British presentation style.
