Which Pokémon type is immune to Ground-type moves?
Answer
Flying
Answer
Flying
Flying-type Pokémon are immune to Ground-type moves.
In the Pokémon battle type system, Flying is normally unaffected by Ground attacks because Flying Pokémon are treated as being airborne. A Ground-type move such as Earthquake therefore fails against a Pokémon that is purely Flying-type, unless a special effect changes its battle state.
This immunity is separate from ordinary resistance. A resistant move still deals reduced damage, while an immune move deals no damage at all. That distinction makes Flying especially useful when switching into Ground attacks, although Flying Pokémon can have other weaknesses, including Electric-, Ice-, or Rock-type attacks depending on their typing.
The immunity can also be removed or bypassed. For example, the move Roost temporarily removes the Flying type during the turn it is used in many games, and abilities, moves, or held items can alter how type interactions work. Dual typing also matters: a Pokémon with Flying as one of its types remains immune unless an effect grounds it.
