Manaphy teaches Ditto the Dive ability in Pokémon Pokopia’s later update.
The Dive ability expands Pokopia beyond the original land-based areas. It lets Ditto enter underwater regions that were previously inaccessible, adding new exploration spaces, aquatic Pokémon, and water-themed furniture.
This content is connected to the game’s expansion material, including the Bubbly Basin area. The update builds on Pokopia’s existing design philosophy: new abilities are not simply combat techniques but tools for changing where Ditto can travel and what kinds of habitats can be created.
Manaphy is a Mythical Water-type Pokémon associated with the sea, making it a fitting character to introduce underwater exploration. It should not be confused with Kyogre, another famous Water-type Pokémon, or with ordinary aquatic residents that may appear in the newly accessible areas.
