Which Pokémon serves as the player character’s mentor in Pokémon Pokopia?

Professor Tangrowth serves as the player character’s mentor in Pokémon Pokopia.

The character is a Tangrowth with an unusual role: it has taken responsibility for studying the damaged environment and investigating why humans and Pokémon left. Professor Tangrowth meets the Ditto protagonist early in the story and helps frame the game’s central mystery.

This character is not one of the established human Pokémon professors such as Professor Oak or Professor Rowan. The title “Professor” belongs to a distinctive Tangrowth character created for Pokopia’s setting.

Professor Tangrowth also helps direct the restoration effort. As Ditto creates habitats and assists Pokémon, the pair gradually uncover records about humanity’s departure and the strange events that made the world increasingly hostile to life.
