Which Pokémon Pokopia director previously directed Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Shigeru Ohmori, a director of Pokémon Pokopia, previously directed Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Ohmori conceived Pokopia while thinking about new ways to approach the Pokémon series. His earlier work as a map designer on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire helped inspire the idea that players might enjoy creating and cultivating their own Pokémon habitats.

That background is reflected in Pokopia’s design. Instead of treating the region as a fixed route between battles, the game asks players to shape spaces, build habitats, and decide how the surrounding environment develops. The concept grew from thinking about the relationship between Pokémon and the places they inhabit.

Ohmori served as the concept and senior director of Pokopia. Omega Force director Takuto Edagawa served as chief director, so the two roles should not be treated as identical.
