Smearguru is the Pokémon Pokopia character who is a Smeargle known for exceptional painting talent.
Smearguru appears among the special Pokémon Ditto encounters while restoring habitats. The character expands on Smeargle's established identity as a Pokémon associated with painting and a tail that functions like a brush.
The name combines Smeargle's species name with the word “guru,” signaling unusual mastery. It is therefore distinct from the ordinary species name and from other special residents in the game.
Pokopia gives several Pokémon individual identities and roles instead of presenting them only as collectible battle creatures. Chef Dente is a Greedent linked to a former chef trainer, while Tinkmaster is a Tinkaton who uses tools to help rebuild the landscape. These characters make habitat restoration part of the game's story.
