Smearguru is a Smeargle in Pokémon Pokopia.
Smearguru is one of the game’s special Pokémon, which are distinctive characters encountered while restoring habitats. The character is described as an exceptionally talented painter, connecting the name “Smearguru” to Smeargle’s established association with painting and its tail-held brush.
Smeargle is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. Its signature concept is using the paint-like substance from its tail to reproduce other Pokémon’s moves, making an artistic special character a natural fit for Pokopia’s creative setting.
Smearguru should not be confused with every Smeargle found in the game. The name identifies a particular special character, while Smeargle is the species. Pokopia uses several similar named characters to give individual Pokémon memorable identities.
