Which Pokémon is the Grass-type starter in the Kalos region?

Chespin is the Grass-type starter Pokémon of the Kalos region. It was introduced in Pokémon X and Y, the sixth-generation games released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013. The other two Kalos starter choices are Fennekin, a Fire type, and Froakie, a Water type.

Chespin is classified as Pokémon number 650 in the National Pokédex. Its design combines features of a chestnut and a hedgehog, including a hard, protective cap of quills. At level 16, it evolves into Quilladin, and Quilladin evolves into the Grass- and Fighting-type Chesnaught at level 36.

Kalos’s starter Pokémon are unusual because they are given to the player by a friend rather than directly by Professor Sycamore. Chespin is sometimes confused with Bulbasaur because both are Grass-type starters, but Bulbasaur belongs to the original Kanto starter trio. Fennekin and Froakie are the other two choices from Kalos.
