Which Pokémon character mentors Ditto in Pokémon Pokopia?

Professor Tangrowth mentors Ditto in Pokémon Pokopia. This Tangrowth has taken on the role of a researcher and studies the abandoned environment surrounding the Pokémon settlement.

After Ditto finds its trainer’s old Pokédex and assumes a human form, it meets Professor Tangrowth. Together, they investigate why humans and Pokémon disappeared and work to make the world habitable again.

Professor Tangrowth is not one of the human professors from the main Pokémon games. The character reflects Pokopia’s unusual premise, where Pokémon themselves have inherited responsibilities such as research, planning, and environmental restoration.

The partnership gives the story a clear guide character while supporting the game’s main activity: rebuilding habitats. Professor Tangrowth also becomes involved in the mysterious Team Initiation Challenge connected to a strange tower.
