Kyogre awakens from the sea after Slowpoke’s rain in Pokémon Pokopia.
The sequence begins when Ditto finds an Onix trapped behind rock that is too difficult to break. Professor Tangrowth explains that rain could soften the obstacle, but the area has not received rain for years. Slowpoke’s yawns produce a brief rainfall, and that event awakens Kyogre from its resting place at the bottom of the sea.
Kyogre then helps summon a proper rainstorm, allowing Ditto to free Onix. This is a story event rather than a standard battle encounter, fitting Pokopia’s focus on cooperation and environmental recovery.
The scene can be confused with the game’s later legendary encounters. Raikou appears in Bleak Beach after electricity is restored, while Volcanion awakens after a party in Rocky Ridges. Kyogre is the legendary linked specifically to the rain and Onix rescue.
