Tangrowth appears alongside Ditto at the beginning of Pokémon Pokopia’s story.
The opening premise brings together a human-shaped Ditto and a Tangrowth with an unusual appearance. Their meeting starts the effort to build a village where Pokémon can live together, giving the game a story foundation beyond simple decoration or resource gathering.
Tangrowth is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It evolves from Tangela when Tangela levels up while knowing Ancient Power, although that evolution detail belongs to the wider Pokémon series rather than being the focus of Pokopia’s opening.
Tangrowth can be mistaken for a generic plant creature because of its thick blue vines and red feet. In Pokopia, however, it is specifically Tangrowth that helps establish the story’s first partnership. The character is therefore different from the other Pokémon encountered as the village expands.
