Which Patek Philippe pocket watch, completed in 1933, is known for having 24 complications?

The story behind the answer

The Patek Philippe pocket watch completed in 1933 and known for having 24 complications is the Henry Graves Supercomplication.

New York banker Henry Graves Jr. commissioned the watch from Patek Philippe in 1925. It took several years to design and manufacture, and the finished gold pocket watch included functions such as a perpetual calendar, split-seconds chronograph, minute repeater, equation of time, sunrise and sunset indications, and a celestial chart.

Its 24 complications made it an extraordinary example of hand-made horology. The watch was designed around Graves’s interest in astronomy and the night sky over New York, so it combined practical calendar displays with astronomical information.

The Supercomplication is sometimes confused with Patek Philippe’s later Calibre 89, a 33-complication anniversary pocket watch. Calibre 89 has more complications, but it is a different watch created for the company’s 150th anniversary.
