Which Pacific island country uses Niue Time?
Answer
Niue
Answer
Niue
Niue uses Niue Time, the Pacific island country's year-round time zone.
Niue Time is abbreviated NUT and has an offset of UTC−11:00. The country has one time zone, centered on the capital village of Alofi, and does not observe daylight saving time. That places Niue among the last inhabited places on Earth to reach a new calendar day.
Niue is a self-governing state in free association with New Zealand. Its isolated position east of the International Date Line helps explain its late calendar position, even though its political and cultural ties are closely connected to New Zealand and the wider Pacific.
American Samoa shares the UTC−11:00 offset, but it uses Samoa Standard Time rather than Niue Time. Palau, Nauru and Tuvalu are also Pacific countries, but their clocks are ahead of Niue: Palau is UTC+09:00, while Nauru and Tuvalu are UTC+12:00.
