Peter Jones was the only original Dragons' Den investor to remain a regular investor.
The original panel included Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Theo Paphitis. As the series developed, several of those original investors left and were replaced by later Dragons.
Jones remained the panel’s continuing original member and became one of the programme’s most recognisable figures. His business interests have included consumer brands, technology and leisure, giving him a broad background for assessing entrepreneurs’ proposals.
The wording “original Dragon” refers to the launch panel, not every investor who appeared in the programme’s first few series. The distinction is important because Dragons' Den has used guest and replacement investors across its long run.
