Which original Dragon's Den investor was the founder of Red Letter Days?

The story behind the answer

Original Dragon's Den investor Rachel Elnaugh was the founder of Red Letter Days.

Red Letter Days sold experience gifts, allowing customers to buy vouchers for activities rather than conventional physical presents. Examples included driving experiences, flights and other leisure events, a model that helped popularise experience-based gifting in the UK.

Elnaugh was one of the five original Dragons when the British version premiered in 2005. Her business background made her a notable member of the launch panel, although Red Letter Days later encountered financial problems and was sold in 2005.

The company story is often remembered incorrectly as a Dragons' Den investment. It was not a business pitched on the show for Elnaugh to fund; it was her pre-existing company and the source of her entrepreneurial reputation. That distinction separates Elnaugh from Dragons who became known mainly through deals made in the Den.
