Which original Dragons' Den investor left the British panel after its first series?
Answer
Simon Woodroffe
Answer
Simon Woodroffe
Simon Woodroffe left the British Dragons' Den panel after its first series.
Woodroffe was one of the five original investors when the British version launched in 2005. He is best known as the founder of YO! Sushi, the restaurant business that popularised conveyor-belt sushi in the United Kingdom.
He appeared during the first series as an investor assessing entrepreneurs and their proposed businesses. After that initial series, he departed the regular panel, and the programme continued with changing combinations of dragons.
His departure can be confused with those of other early investors because the original line-up changed soon after launch. Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne, by contrast, remained associated with the programme for many more series.
