Peter Jones is the only original Dragon's Den investor still appearing on the British show.
Jones joined the programme when the BBC series began in 2005. The original panel also included Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Rachel Elnaugh and Simon Woodroffe, but each of those investors later left the regular line-up.
His background includes interests in technology, media, leisure and retail. On Dragon's Den, he is especially associated with asking entrepreneurs about valuation, sales and the practical route to growth.
The word “original” matters here: later investors such as Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman and Steven Bartlett became prominent members of the panel, but they were not part of the first line-up. Jones's continuous tenure makes him the show's longest-serving original investor.
