Peter Jones is the only original Dragon's Den investor still appearing regularly in the UK series.
Jones was part of the original five-investor line-up when the British adaptation launched. The initial panel also included Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Theo Paphitis and Simon Woodroffe. Each of those other original investors eventually left the regular panel, while Jones continued through later series and changing casts.
Jones is an entrepreneur and investor associated with interests including technology, media, leisure and retail. On the programme, he evaluates proposals by examining the business model, financial evidence, ownership requested and the entrepreneur's ability to execute the plan.
This fact concerns the original regular panel, not every person who has ever appeared as a guest investor. The programme has introduced many later dragons, so “original” refers specifically to the launch-era five-person panel.
