Which original Dragon was a founder of the Bannatyne Group?

Duncan Bannatyne was a founder of the Bannatyne Group and an original Dragon on the UK programme.

The Bannatyne Group became known for health clubs, spas and hotels. Bannatyne built his business career through a series of ventures and became a prominent British entrepreneur before joining the Dragons' Den panel. His public profile expanded substantially through television, where he was associated with a direct and highly competitive negotiating style.

Bannatyne's name is sometimes confused with the name of the business group itself, but the founder was Duncan Bannatyne. He was also associated with charitable work and public campaigning outside the programme. In the context of Dragons' Den, the important distinction is that he was an investor on the panel, while the Bannatyne Group was his own business enterprise. Other original Dragons had different specialisms and company histories, so their names should not be substituted for his.
