Peter Jones remained on the British television series Dragon's Den from its launch longer than any other original investor.
Jones was part of the original panel when the programme began in 2005 and continued as a Dragon while other members of that first group departed. His business interests have included technology, media, retail and consumer products, giving him a broad investment background for the pitches.
The original Dragons also included Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. Their departures and replacements created the changing panel that became a characteristic part of the series.
This fact concerns continuous tenure on the British programme, not the age or wealth of the investors. It also does not mean Jones was the first Dragon ever seen in the worldwide format, which originated outside Britain.
