Peter Jones remained on the British show after Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis and Rachel Elnaugh had left.
Jones was one of the five investors who formed the original panel in 2005. The other launch Dragons included Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Rachel Elnaugh and Simon Woodroffe. Over the programme’s history, the panel changed as investors departed and new Dragons were appointed.
Jones’s continuous participation made him the enduring link with the first series. His business interests have included technology, telecommunications, retail and media, giving him a broad investment profile within the programme.
Doug Richard was also an original Dragon, but he left after the first series, while Simon Woodroffe departed after the early run. James Caan joined later, so he was never part of the original five.
